Job Description

About Nebula Tech Solutions

Platform Engineer – Kafka

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain

    Kafka clusters

    , ensuring high availability and zero data loss
  • Manage and optimize

    Kafka connectors

    (Debezium, JDBC, custom), Kafka MirrorMaker for replication
  • Analyze logs using

    Grafana, OpenSearch

    to fine-tune Kafka performance
  • Design and deploy

    Kubernetes-based Kafka infrastructure

    using Helm and Kustomize
  • Collaborate with

    SRE and DevOps teams

    for streamlined deployments and automation
  • Contribute to

    CI/CD pipelines

    , infrastructure-as-code, and test frameworks
  • Troubleshoot streaming pipelines and perform root cause analysis of production issues
  • Document runbooks, architectural decisions, and integration patterns

Required Skills & Qualifications

Python

Debezium Kafka connectors for SQL Server

Kafka experience

Kubernetes and Docker

Kafka upgrades, tuning, and MirrorMaker

DevOps practices

distributed systems and real-time streaming

AWS services

SQL

SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB

CI/CD pipelines

Nice to Have

  • Experience with

    Kafka security

    , Schema Registry, RBAC
  • Exposure to

    observability stacks

    (Prometheus, ELK, etc.)
  • Knowledge of

    multi-cloud deployments
