Platform Engineer

As a Platform Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building modern cloud-native systems and migrating legacy on-prem applications to the cloud. Your expertise in AWS serverless technologies and infrastructure automation will be key in ensuring scalable architectures and modernizing legacy stacks. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient backend services using Node.js and AWS Lambda. - Lead or contribute to migration initiatives transitioning on-prem or legacy workloads to modern cloud environments. - Implement and optimize serverless architectures leveraging AWS services like API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3. - Write clean, testable, and efficient TypeScript/Node.js code following best practices. - Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate backend APIs with modern frontend frameworks such as React and React Native. - Implement and maintain security, monitoring, and backup strategies. - Drive automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption using Terraform. - Identify opportunities to modernize legacy systems and propose cloud-first solutions. - Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to enhance delivery speed and reliability. - Foster a culture of learning, ownership, and innovation within the engineering team. **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). - Proven experience in backend or platform engineering, with a strong exposure to AWS serverless technologies. - Hands-on expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS Lambda. - Solid understanding of API design, server-side architecture, and RESTful services. - Experience with Terraform and CI/CD automation (GitHub Actions or similar). - Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset. - Familiarity with software engineering best practices and agile delivery methodologies. In addition to the above requirements, experience in cloud migration projects, familiarity with legacy tech stacks, exposure to Azure cloud services, and a willingness to work on non-traditional systems are considered as preferred skills.
