Plant Production Manager

Location: Large Sector, Gamharia, Adityapur Industrial Area, Jamshedpur

Industry: Heavy Metal Fabrication / Pre-Fabricated Steel Structures

Experience Required: 815 years in a similar role in fabrication/manufacturing

Reporting To: Director Operations / COO

Role Summary:

The Plant Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the fabrication plant, ensuring efficient production, quality compliance, cost control, timely delivery, and workforce management. The role demands strong leadership, technical know-how in structural steel fabrication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and control all production activities to meet delivery schedules and quality standards.

Manage and coordinate all fabrication processes including cutting, welding, assembly, finishing, and dispatch.

Monitor plant performance metrics productivity, downtime, quality, and safety and take corrective actions.

Optimize resource utilization (manpower, machines, and materials) to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

Collaborate with design, planning, procurement, quality, and logistics teams for seamless operations.

Implement and enforce safety protocols, ISO standards, and company policies on the shop floor.

Train and lead the production team; ensure skill development and performance management.

Conduct daily production meetings, progress reviews, and reporting to senior management.

Key Requirements:

Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Production.

815 years of experience in plant or production management, preferably in heavy fabrication or structural steel industry.

Strong technical knowledge of fabrication processes like welding (SMAW, MIG), plasma cutting, CNC operations, and handling of heavy steel components.

Familiarity with ERP systems, production planning tools, and quality management systems.

Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
