Plant In-charge for Amta Processing Unit

Position: Plant In-charge

Department: Processing Unit

Reporting to: GM Procurement and PU

Experience: 6-8 years with at least 5 years in a supervisory/ team management role.

Location: Amta

Qualification: Diploma/ Bachelors in Mechanical/ Production/ Electrical/ Industrial engineering, production management

Preferred Industry: manufacturing, recycling, or scrap processing are preferred

Role Description:

Amta PU is seeking a dedicated and experienced Plant In-charge to join our team. This role involves managing and planning the daily operations of the scrap processing unit, ensuring optimal efficiency, productivity, managing staff, cand ensuring ethical and safe movement of scrap materials.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Supervision:

Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of scrap processing unit.

Manage production planning, manpower planning, basic maintenance and consumables, dispatch and ability to handle compliance matter related to plant and liaison with local authority.

Ensure adherence to production schedules and targets.

Oversee and guide production team to achieve high-quality results.

Identify area of improvement in scrap processing workflow and recommend changes for better efficiency and cost effectiveness.

2. Manpower Handling, Reporting and Documentation:

Ability to handle 60-80 contractual manpower and on-roll employees. Manage shift- schedule and roaster.

Monitor and maintain record of in-ward and out-ward inventory of scrap materials.

Maintain accurate records of daily productions, inventory and equipment performance.

Prepare and submit regular reports on productivity, cost and efficiency

Track and report any incidence, accidents or malfunction practices promptly.

3. Quality Control:

Conduct random quality checks of products to ensure they meet quality standards.

Identify and resolve/report any deviations or defects in the production process.

4. Vehicle Loading Supervision:

Monitor proper and safe material movement of Raw materials and finished goods loading and unloading.

Ensure proper stacking and securing of materials to prevent damage during transportation.

Ensure proper documentation, check-list, weighment accuracy.

5. Safety Measures & Housekeeping:

Implement and enforce safety protocols and measures on the shop floor.

Conduct safety audits and inspections to mitigate risks and hazards.

Maintain cleanliness and organization on the shop floor.

Ensure that materials and tools are stored properly to promote a safe working environment.

6. Logistics Coordination:

Collaborate with the logistics team to coordinate the placement of vehicles for loading and unloading.

Maintain clear communication to ensure timely logistics operations.

7. Vehicle Weighing:

Weight vehicles before and after loading to verify product quantities.

Record and report accurate weight data to facilitate logistics planning.
