Job Overview

A Planning Manager in civil projects is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive project schedules, ensuring timely delivery while optimizing resources and managing risks across construction and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project schedules using industry-standard software (Primavera P6, MS Project)
• Establish and maintain the project baseline schedule and track progress against milestones
• Conduct regular schedule reviews and updates, identifying potential delays and recommending recovery strategies
• Analyze critical paths and resource allocation to optimize project timelines
• Prepare and present schedule progress reports for project stakeholders and management
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including design, procurement, construction, and client representatives
• Develop "what-if" scenarios to assess schedule impacts of potential changes
• Support claims management through schedule analysis and impact assessment
• Mentor junior planning staff and provide technical guidance

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in planning and scheduling civil engineering projects
• Proficiency in scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project)
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing
• Experience with earned value management techniques
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP or equivalent project management certification
• Experience in multiple civil project types (Commercial, Residential, Data Centre.)
• Understanding of resource leveling and cost-loaded scheduling.
