Piping Material Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed

  material specifications

  for piping, valves, and special parts specific to hydrogen piping systems.
• Ensure the selection of appropriate materials to handle hydrogen safely, considering factors such as high pressure, low temperature, and corrosion resistance.
• Collaborate with design teams to integrate material specifications into overall piping design for hydrogen plants.
• Conduct or oversee testing requirements, including pressure testing, leak detection, and compatibility checks for hydrogen piping systems.
• Stay updated on industry standards and regulations related to hydrogen piping systems (e.g., ASME, ASTM, API).
• Review and approve vendor documentation, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety requirements.
• Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, and installation phases.
• Identify and address challenges specific to hydrogen piping systems, such as material degradation, embrittlement, and safety concerns.

Qualifications:

• Education:

  Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field.

• Experience:

• Proven experience in piping material engineering, with specific expertise in hydrogen piping systems.
• Knowledge of hydrogen-specific codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.12, EIGA, CGA).

• Skills:

• Proficiency in preparing material specifications and technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of hydrogen piping design considerations, including safety, testing, and performance requirements.
• Familiarity with software tools for material selection and design analysis.
