Physical Design Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physical Design Engineer to join our team. The candidate should have a strong background in block-level Place & Route (PnR) and physical verification, along with excellent analytical and debugging capabilities. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and drive

  block-level physical design

  activities including

  floorplanning, placement, CTS, routing, and optimization

  .
• Perform

  physical verification

  (DRC, LVS, ERC, Antenna checks) and resolve issues in collaboration with relevant teams.
• Have hands on experience in IR drop analysis and the fixes.
• Work closely with RTL designers, STA engineers, and packaging/layout teams to ensure design closure.
• Analyze and debug timing, congestion, and DRC/LVS issues efficiently.
• Contribute to methodology development and automation for improved design efficiency.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior team members.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 710 years of hands-on experience in block-level PnR and physical verification.
• Proficiency in tools such as Innovus, ICC2, Primetime, Calibre, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of timing closure, power optimization, and signal integrity.
• Excellent analytical and debugging skills.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work across multiple teams and geographies.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, VLSI, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with advanced nodes.
• Exposure to low-power design techniques and multi-voltage domains.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (TCL, Perl, Python) for automation.
