Job Description

Job Title: PHE Design Engineer

Location: Kochi

Job Summary:

Public Health Engineering (PHE) Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and design PHE systems, including domestic water supply, drainage, sewerage, rainwater harvesting, and fire water systems.
Prepare design drawings, layouts, schematics, and specifications using
AutoCAD, Revit
, and other BIM tools.
Perform calculations for water demand, pipe sizing, and hydraulic analysis.
Ensure design compliance with local building codes, green building standards, and project specifications.
Coordinate PHE services with architectural, structural, and other MEP disciplines.
Attend design coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.
Review and comment on shop drawings, material submittals, and contractor queries.
Support the preparation of BOQs and technical documentation for tendering.
Conduct site visits to verify installation aligns with the approved design.
Stay updated with advancements in plumbing technologies, sustainability practices, and relevant code updates.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent.
27 years of experience in PHE design, preferably in consultancy or multidisciplinary engineering firms.
Proficient in
AutoCAD, Revit MEP
, and PHE calculation software (e.g., HAP, Elite, or similar).
Strong understanding of international and local plumbing codes (e.g., IPC, UPC, NBC, CPHEEO).
Experience with LEED, IGBC, or other sustainability certifications is a plus.
Good communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
