Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Participate in all phases of PHE system design, from initial concept development to detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
Perform load calculations and system sizing for plumbing, heating, and medical gas systems.
Select appropriate equipment and materials based on project requirements, codes, and standards.
Create detailed and accurate 2D and potentially 3D CAD drawings of PHE systems using industry-standard software (e.g., Revit).
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical) to ensure proper integration of PHE systems within the overall building design.
Coordinate with contractors to ensure proper installation of PHE systems according to plans and specifications.
Conduct constructability reviews to identify and mitigate potential installation challenges.
Participate in value engineering exercises to optimize PHE system design for cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
Stay up-to-date on the latest codes, standards, and technologies in the PHE engineering field.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 2-5 years of experience in PHE system design for commercial or industrial projects.
Proficiency in using building design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
Strong understanding of plumbing, heating, and medical gas codes and standards (e.g., IPC, UPC, ASHRAE, NFPA).
