We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.NHSGGCPharmacy ServicesNorth SectorVale of Leven HospitalBand 2 Pharmacy Support WorkerPermanent 15 hours per week (please note that salary is pro rate for part time posts)We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive individual to join our small and friendly pharmacy team in the delivery of clinical pharmacy services to a variety of clinical areas throughout Vale of Leven Hospital and other North Sector Hospital sites. Although based at Vale of Leven Hospital, cross sector working in any North Sector site may be required. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of the safe and effective supply of medicines to patients.The post holder will primarily be based in the pharmacy stores area but also support the pharmacy team in the main dispensary. The successful candidate will receive and check Vacancy Request Form (VRF) Approved January 2024 Page 3 of 12 pharmaceutical deliveries from a variety of sources interpreting information from the delivery notes to identify the accuracy of orders before receipting the orders onto the Pharmacy Stock Management System. On receipt of goods, the post holder will allocate drugs to correct wards/departments and prepare orders for collection by portering staff. Other duties include the stock management of bulk IV fluids and medical gas cylinders as well as replenishing medication used in the hospital emergency cupboard. General housekeeping duties include recording temperatures both ambient and in refrigerators as well as photocopying, scanning and filing.The post holder will be an integral member of the pharmacy team and work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team including nurses, medical staff, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.You must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written and be able to organise and prioritise your own workload. National 4 qualification or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics and a willingness to complete an SCQF Level 6 unit as part of your development.
