Patient Education : Educate patients on the genetic conditions, inheritance patterns, prevention strategies, and the implications of genetic testing. Documentation : Maintain accurate and thorough records of patient interactions, genetic counseling sessions, and test results. Ethical and Confidentiality Standards : Ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained in compliance with healthcare laws and ethical guidelines. Qualifications : Education : Masters degree in Genetic Counseling or a related field (from an accredited program). Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Genetic Counselor, preferably in a diagnostic or clinical setting. Skills : In-depth knowledge of genetics, genomics, and genetic testing procedures. Strong communication and counseling skills. Ability to interpret complex genetic data and explain it to non-experts. Empathy and active listening skills for patient support. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Proficiency in using genetic databases and relevant software.
