Job Description

Role Overview

  • The Head Paediatric Palliative Care Services is responsible for developing, expanding, and overseeing palliative care programs PAN India. The role entails managing the operations of Subhita, leading clinical and administrative teams, driving innovation and capacity building, and collaborating with key stakeholders. The Head will work to ensure the integration of palliative care into pediatric oncology, primary healthcare, and comprehensive pediatric services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement paediatric palliative care models across all Cankids Hospital Support Units.
  • Strategically integrate palliative care into pediatric oncology, primary health care, and community settings. Develop guidelines, SOPs, and training modules for palliative care. Identify opportunities for program expansion and innovation.
  • Collaborate with hospitals, NGOs, government bodies, and international partners. Represent CanKids in external forums and advocacy initiatives. Support the Chairman in her role as a Central Council Member of the Indian Association of Palliative Care
  • Lead and manage Subhita, India s only standalone paediatric palliative care center. Ensure delivery of high-quality, compassionate care. Oversee clinical operations, staffing, and service quality.
  • Initiate and lead research projects and innovations in paediatric palliative care. Facilitate training and mentoring programs for healthcare providers and volunteers. Build a multidisciplinary team to support service delivery and training.
  • Administrative Responsibilities
  • Manage program budgets, financial planning, and resource allocation. Track performance indicators and generate timely internal and external reports. Liaise with insurance providers and community partners for resource mobilization and support.
  • Other Extended Duties
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Reporting Manager.
  • Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Education: Medical degree (MBBS) with specialization in paediatric palliative care (preferred). Experience: 3 4 years of experience in palliative care or related healthcare leadership roles. Skills & Competencies:
  • o Strong clinical knowledge of paediatric palliative care. o Excellent leadership, team-building, and stakeholder management skills. o Strategic planning, problem-solving, and reporting abilities. o Effective communication skills and emotional intelligence.
