OT Staff Nurse

You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and sterile Operating Theatre (OT). This includes checking equipment, ensuring the sterility of instruments, setting up trolleys for procedures, assisting the surgeon, and advocating for the patient. Additionally, you will be in charge of patient handovers, counting instruments and swabs, sending specimens to the lab, washing and autoclaving instruments, and following hospital infection control protocols. It will also be your duty to maintain OT records, monitor temperature, humidity, and air changes, report incidents, and manage daily inventory. Key Responsibilities: - Maintain cleanliness and sterility of the OT - Check and maintain equipment - Prepare trolleys with necessary instruments, sutures, and linen - Assist the surgeon during procedures - Advocate for the patient - Hand over patients to the floors/ICU - Count instruments and swabs before closing - Ensure correct labeling and sending of specimens to the lab - Wash, pack, and autoclave instruments for reuse - Follow hospital infection control protocols - Maintain OT records - Monitor temperature, humidity, and air changes - Report any incidents or sentinel events - Manage daily inventory - Assist in maintaining quality indicator data Qualifications Required: - Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of experience - Experience in working night shifts and rotational shifts Note: This job is full-time and the work location is in person.
