Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Pastry Chef with extensive experience in a professional bakery kitchen. The role requires expertise in producing high-quality pastries, designer cakes, wedding cakes, and multi-tier (2–4 tier) celebration cakes. The Pastry Chef will be responsible for leading the pastry section, managing a team of approximately 6 chefs, and ensuring the seamless delivery of pastry operations across all Bhopal Bakehouse & Café (BBC) outlets, Jehan Numa Retreat, and Jungle Lodge requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Management
  • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of ~6 pastry chefs, ensuring high standards of performance.
  • Plan and allocate daily production schedules for outlets and event requirements.
  • Maintain discipline, cleanliness, and adherence to hygiene standards in the pastry kitchen.
  • Production & Creativity
  • Prepare and innovate a wide range of pastries, designer cakes, specialty desserts, and plated sweets.
  • Create and execute high-end wedding cakes and tiered cakes (2–4 tiers) with precision and artistry.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality across all pastry products.
  • Develop seasonal specials, festive menus, and new product concepts aligned with brand standards.
  • Operational Excellence
  • Oversee day-to-day pastry operations, inventory, and stock control for all units (BBC outlets, Jehan Numa Retreat, and Jungle Lodge).
  • Ensure timely production and delivery of all pastry items to meet operational and banquet/event demands.
  • Monitor portioning, wastage control, and cost management while maintaining premium quality.
  • Work closely with management and outlet chefs to forecast demand and align production accordingly.
  • Quality & Standards
  • Maintain the highest level of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (FSSAI compliance).
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure recipes, methods, and presentations are consistently followed.
  • Uphold the reputation of the brand by delivering premium bakery and pastry products.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, or specialized Pastry & Confectionery certification.
  • Minimum 4–8 years of proven experience in a bakery/pastry section, with strong exposure to designer cakes and wedding cakes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in multi-tier cake production and high-quality pastry creation.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with experience handling medium-sized kitchen teams.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines across multiple outlets.
  • Passion for innovation, creativity, and attention to detail in pastry design and execution.

Employment Details

  • Designation: Pastry Chef (Commis 1 / DCDP / CDP – depending on experience)
  • Reporting to: Executive Chef / Head of Operations
  • Location: Bhopal (servicing all BBC outlets, Jehan Numa Retreat, and Jungle Lodge)
  • Team Size: ~6 Pastry Chefs
  • Compensation & Benefits: As per industry standards, inclusive of statutory benefits (PF, ESI, gratuity, bonus).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
