Insurance cancellation specialist

The GAP & Auto Loan Claims Specialist is responsible for managing and processing claims related to Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP), short-term payoff/settlement requests, product cancellations, and Credit Protection Program (CPP) claims. This role ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, delivers accurate claim resolutions, and provides excellent customer service to borrowers, dealerships, and financial partners

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Excellent verbal Communication (US Accent), reading, and writing skills are mandatory.
• Review and process GAP claims for auto loans, ensuring accurate calculation of deficiencies.
• Coordinate with insurance companies, lenders, and borrowers to validate claim documentation.
• Handle requests for early loan payoff or settlement agreements.
• Calculate payoff amounts, including interest, fees, and applicable adjustments
• Process cancellations for ancillary auto loan products (e.g., extended warranties, service contracts).
• Calculate refunds and ensure proper posting to customer accounts.
• Review and adjudicate CPP claims related to disability, unemployment, or life coverage.
• Verify eligibility and supporting documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of all claims and settlements.
• Provide clear, empathetic communication to borrowers regarding claim status.
• Collaborate with dealerships, lenders, and third-party administrators.
• Resolve escalated issues with professionalism and efficiency
• This position may be responsible for any additional duties and tasks assigned.

PREFERRED SKILLS

• 24 years of experience in auto finance, claims processing, or loan servicing.
• Knowledge of GAP coverage, CPP programs, and auto loan structures or AR calling
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills in a U.S. accent, along with strong reading and writing abilities (mandatory).
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial calculations.
• Ability to manage multiple claims and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Team collaboration and cross-departmental coordination.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
