Part Time -Backend Engineer (Java/Kotlin) -5-6 hours

We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer with strong Kotlin or Java expertise to join our team and contribute to the development and optimization of mission-critical backend systems. This role involves building robust APIs, ensuring reliable data flow across systems, and working closely with internal teams and client stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

* Design, develop, and maintain backend services and integrations using Java or Kotlin (strong preference for Kotlin).

* Work extensively with complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures to ensure efficient data flow between applications and databases.

* Support and enhance SOAP-based APIs critical to enterprise integration layers.

* Analyze, debug, and optimize existing backend logic for performance, scalability, and reliability.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable smooth integration, testing, and deployment.

* Communicate effectively with client stakeholders, providing transparency, clarity, and timely updates.

Qualifications

* 5–9 years of professional experience in backend engineering.

* Strong proficiency in Kotlin or Java (Kotlin strongly preferred).

* Advanced SQL skills with the ability to read, debug, and work with dense database logic.

* Hands-on experience with SOAP-based APIs and related integration frameworks.

* Solid understanding of data flow, backend application performance, and database architecture.

* Experience working in collaborative, client-facing environments is a plus.
