Job Summary:

Senior Packaging & Deployment Engineer

In this role, you will be responsible for automating, scaling, and optimizing software rollout processes while ensuring security, performance, and compliance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive consistency in endpoint deployments and maintain a streamlined user experience across desktops, laptops, and other managed devices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and test

  MSI/MST application packages

  using

  InstallShield

  ,

  PowerShell

  , and

  VBScript

  .
• Lead enterprise deployment strategies using

  SCCM

  ,

  MCM

  , or

  ManageEngine Endpoint Central

  , including:
• Phased software rollouts
  
• Patch/update cycles
  
• Remote installations
  
• Validate application compatibility across different Windows OS versions and hardware platforms.
  
• Automate packaging and deployment processes to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and ensure repeatability.
  
• Troubleshoot complex packaging issues and deployment failures; lead detailed

  root cause analysis (RCA)

  efforts.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, desktop support, and cybersecurity teams to ensure alignment with organizational standards and policies.
  
• Maintain and monitor

  deployment dashboards

  , manage version control, and implement

  rollback plans

  when necessary.
• Define and uphold standards for packaging documentation,

  User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

  , and

  service catalog entries

  .
• Mentor and support junior (L1/L2) packaging engineers in tool usage, best practices, and technical troubleshooting.
  
• Participate in

  change control processes

  , support

  audit readiness

  , and assist in

  vulnerability remediation efforts

  related to endpoint software.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Advanced knowledge of

  InstallShield

  ,

  MSI/MSP packaging

  , and

  custom scripting

  (e.g., PowerShell, VBScript).
• Strong experience with

  SCCM/MCM

  : creating collections, task sequences, deployments, and generating detailed reports.
• Familiarity with

  ManageEngine Endpoint Central

  for policy configuration and software distribution.
• Solid understanding of

  Windows OS architecture

  , registry management, file system permissions, and software dependency handling.
• Experience packaging and deploying complex applications, including drivers, browser plug-ins, and multi-component software suites.
  
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve application conflicts, deployment failures, and performance-related issues.
  
• Excellent

  communication skills

  with the ability to document processes and present technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in mentoring and supporting team members.
