Sector: Clinical orthopaedics and trauma care delivering joint replacement, arthroscopy, fracture management and rehabilitation for a broad patient mix in Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh.Position: Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon (MS/DNB)Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based orthopaedic care across outpatient clinics, inpatient wards and on-call emergency/trauma services.
- Plan and perform elective and emergency surgeries including joint replacement, arthroscopic procedures and fracture fixation (ORIF) with a focus on safety and excellent outcomes.
- Manage pre-operative assessment, operative planning and structured post-operative follow-up including complication management and rehabilitation coordination.
- Work collaboratively with anaesthesia, physiotherapy, radiology and nursing teams to optimise patient pathways and clinical outcomes.
- Supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents and nursing staff; contribute to training, protocol development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate medical records, comply with clinical governance, infection control protocols and participate in morbidity & mortality reviews.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MS (Orthopaedics) or DNB (Orthopaedics) with valid medical registration (State Medical Council/NMC).
- Proven independent operating experience in joint replacement and trauma surgery in a hospital setting.
- Demonstrated competence in arthroscopy and fracture fixation techniques (ORIF).
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent.
- Strong clinical documentation, ability to follow clinical governance and maintain quality & safety standards.
- Willingness to work on-site in Bhimavaram with participation in emergency on-call rosters.
Preferred
- Fellowship in joint replacement, trauma or arthroscopy.
- Experience in minimally invasive orthopaedic procedures and enhanced recovery protocols.
- Prior experience mentoring trainees and participating in academic activities or CMEs.
