About The Opportunity

Medico Hub is hiring a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon (MS / DNB) to lead surgical care and deliver high-quality orthopedic services at its Somnath facility. The role includes outpatient clinics, operating theatre responsibilities, trauma call coverage and collaboration with physiotherapy and radiology teams to optimise patient outcomes.

Role & Responsibilities

• Provide independent consultant-level care across OPD, inpatient wards and emergency trauma — assess, diagnose and create surgical care plans.
• Perform elective and emergency orthopedic surgeries including total joint replacements (hip/knee), arthroscopic procedures and complex fracture fixation.
• Lead operative teams in OT: pre-op planning, intra-op decision-making and post-op management to ensure surgical safety and outcomes.
• Manage trauma call rota: timely stabilization, fixation (IM nailing, external fixation) and multidisciplinary coordination for polytrauma cases.
• Document clinical notes, consent, medico-legal records and participate in mortality/morbidity and quality-improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior doctors and liaise with physiotherapy, radiology, anesthesia and hospital administration to streamline patient pathways.

• Total Knee Arthroplasty
• Total Hip Arthroplasty

• Intramedullary nailing
• Ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal injections
  

Preferred

• Spine surgery experience
• Robotic-assisted joint replacement
• Fellowship in joint replacement or trauma
  

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

• MD/MS (Orthopaedics) or DNB (Orthopaedics) — valid registration with the Medical Council/State Medical Council.
• Proven consultant-level clinical and surgical experience in a hospital setting with independent OT responsibility.
• Ability to work onsite in Somnath, Gujarat, including participation in emergency/trauma rotas and weekend on-call duties.
• Strong clinical documentation, basic hospital administration familiarity and adherence to surgical safety protocols (WHO checklist).
