Oracle PLSQL [Performance Tuning specialist]

We are seeking an experienced Oracle SQL and PL/SQL Performance Tuning Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing, troubleshooting, and optimizing database queries and PL/SQL code to ensure maximum performance and scalability for mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and improve the performance of complex SQL queries, PL/SQL packages, procedures, triggers, and functions.
• Identify bottlenecks in database applications and recommend tuning solutions.
• Work with developers to optimize database designs, indexing strategies, and SQL code.
• Perform root cause analysis for performance issues in production and non-production environments.
• Utilize Oracle tools (e.g., AWR, ADDM, SQL Trace, TKPROF, SQL Monitor) to monitor and analyze performance.
• Provide guidance and best practices for writing efficient SQL and PL/SQL code.
• Collaborate with DBAs, application developers, and architects to ensure performance considerations are addressed during development and deployment.
• Review execution plans and suggest query rewrites or optimizations.
• Participate in code reviews with a focus on performance aspects.
• Prepare documentation for tuning recommendations and performance baselines.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development and tuning.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture and internals.
• Expertise in interpreting Oracle execution plans.
• Experience using Oracle performance tools such as AWR, ADDM, SQL Trace, TKPROF, SQL Monitor, etc.
• Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and PL/SQL code.
• Understanding of indexing strategies, partitioning, and optimizer hints.
• Knowledge of performance tuning in high-volume transactional systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Oracle versions 12c, 19c, or later.
• Exposure to Exadata, RAC, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Familiarity with performance testing tools.
• Understanding of data modeling and database design.
• Experience in working in Agile environments.
