Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute end-to-end Oracle database migrations to Exadata platforms (X7/X8/X9M).
• Conduct

  pre-migration assessments

  , capacity planning, and architecture reviews.
• Perform

  data movement using RMAN, Data Pump, Transportable Tablespaces

  , or

  GoldenGate

  as per use-case.
• Configure and administer

  Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard

  , and other Exadata-specific features.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams for

  networking, storage, and performance optimization

  .
• Ensure

  backup & recovery strategies

  are in place and tested during migration.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and implement best practices for high availability.
• Document the migration plan, configurations, and post-migration validation steps.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs on Exadata-related tasks.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years

  of hands-on Oracle DBA experience in enterprise environments.

• 5+ years of proven experience in Exadata environments

  and large-scale Exadata migrations.
• Strong command over

  Oracle 12c/19c/21c

  , RAC, ASM, RMAN, OEM, and Data Guard.
• Proficiency in

  Exadata architecture, smart scans, storage cells, Hybrid Columnar Compression (HCC)

  .
• Experience with

  performance tuning

  in Exadata systems.
• Knowledge of tools like

  ZDM (Zero Downtime Migration), RMAN, Data Guard, Transportable Tablespaces

  , and

  Oracle GoldenGate

  .
• Good understanding of

  OS-level (Linux/Unix) scripting

  for automation.
• Exposure to

  Cloud Exadata (Exadata Cloud@Customer / OCI Exadata)

  is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Exadata Certified Implementation Specialist.
• Experience in multi-terabyte database environments.
• Prior experience in

  Exadata patching and maintenance operations

  .
• Familiarity with

  Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)

  monitoring tools.
