Role Overview

Database Administrator (DBA)

You will be responsible for ensuring database availability, reliability, and performance while performing installations, upgrades, patching, and recovery operations in both production and non-production environments.

Shift Timings

    • Shift 1:

      7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

    • Shift 2:

      10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

    • Shift 3:

      12:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

Database Installation, Configuration & Maintenance

  • Install, configure, and manage

    Oracle 12c and 19c

    databases on

    Linux

    ,

    AIX

    , and

    Windows

    platforms.
  • Perform

    RAC database maintenance

    including installation, troubleshooting, and tuning.
  • Manage

    Data Guard

    and execute

    Business Continuity (BCP)

    tests.
  • Install and configure

    OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) 13c

    , including agents and monitoring templates.
  • Conduct

    OMS patching

    , upgrades, and OEM incident rule configuration.

Backup, Recovery & Cloning

  • Implement and manage

    RMAN backups and restores

    (incremental, full, and automated).
  • Schedule and monitor backup jobs through

    OEM Grid Control

    .
  • Perform

    logical backups

    using

    Export/Import

    and

    Data Pump utilities

    .
  • Clone and refresh databases for development and testing environments.
  • Restore and recover databases during crashes or corruption scenarios.

Performance Tuning & Troubleshooting

  • Conduct

    database performance tuning

    using AWR, ADDM, and ASH reports.
  • Troubleshoot slow-running SQL queries and optimize resource usage.
  • Implement high availability strategies and RAC optimization.

Patching & Upgrades

  • Apply

    quarterly PSU patches

    to OMS, agents, CRS, ASM, and databases using OEM deployment and manual methods.
  • Perform

    database version upgrades

    (e.g., 11gR2 12c 19c).
  • Implement

    fleet maintenance

    and proactive patch deployment strategies.

Monitoring & Automation

  • Develop and schedule

    UNIX/Windows-based monitoring scripts

    for daily health checks.
  • Configure

    OEM alerts, incidents, and notification rules

    for proactive monitoring.
  • Automate routine DBA tasks using

    Shell

    ,

    Python

    , or

    PowerShell

    scripting.

Cross-Platform Database Support

  • Manage critical production, development, and test databases across

    AIX, Linux, and Windows

    .
  • Provide

    24/7 on-call support

    and root-cause analysis for high-priority incidents.
  • Maintain compliance with internal and external security and data protection policies.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3–6 years

    of core Oracle database administration experience.
  • Expertise in

    Oracle 12c and 19c

    database installation, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of

    Linux/AIX

    system administration.
  • Proven experience with

    RAC

    ,

    Data Guard

    ,

    BCP

    , and

    RMAN

    .
  • Skilled in

    performance tuning

    ,

    troubleshooting

    , and

    backup/recovery

    .
  • Proficiency in

    OEM 13c

    —installation, configuration, agent deployment, and job scheduling.
  • Experience in

    database cloning, patching, and migration

    .
  • Familiarity with

    PSU patch application

    (manual and OEM deployment).
  • Experience in

    OMS patching

    and

    incident management

    .
  • Knowledge of

    RAC architecture

    and high availability configurations.
  • Basic exposure to

    MongoDB, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL

    is a plus.

  • Oracle

    OCP / OCA Certification

  • Experience with

    Cloud Databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or OCI)
