Oracle Database Administrator

Objectives aligned to this role:

Responsible for all Database administration jobs for Oracle DB. Monitoring and supporting the DB Operation team in all the difficulties they face in day-to-day tasks and admin jobs.

What would you do?

• Attend all the DB alerts raised by the DB ops team and resolve them proactively to avoid any issues in production.
• Check daily slow-running queries in all production DBs and do the tuning check with leads, as per leads' guidelines, make the changes, and test the same in lower environments and move the changes to production.
• Keep track of all the changes moving into production as part of change management are properly tested in the lower environment and do not have any adverse impact in production. Do a post-production review.
• Monitor all DBA jobs that are getting executed and no errors are found in the same. If any error is found, then resolve the same and get the same executed.
• Ensure all DBs have enough space and all space and utilization-related alerts are working fine in production.
• Any production issue raised by the incident management participants pate in the same WAR room and give inputs from the DBA side to resolve the issue as quickly as possible to meet the SLA. Involve leads and even the DBA head if required, as per the matrix decided.
• Participate in all DR schedules and unscheduled drills to perform the DB-related activities and ensure no errors at the DB end so as to achieve the end objective of RTO and RPO committed to the bank.
• Process improvements are required which resulting in cost/time / Space savings.

Whom we are looking for:

For this role, you must have:

• 3 to 10 years of overall experience, out of which a minimum of 3 years doing a database administration job, and not only an ops job.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with Oracle DB
• Large implementation, 10 TB + size database
• Clustering, Rack, etc, working experience.
• Worked on DR / BCP drills executions, handled switchover and switch back of DB from production to DR and DR to production.

Technical skills:

Required:

• Skilled in SQL, Oracle databases, or NoSQL databases.
• Database Architecture.
• Oracle Architecture, RAC, Datagaurd, RMAN, EXPDP/EMPDP

Good to have:

• Knowledge on the O/s Unix, Windows.
