Job Description

Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and interpret clinical findings
Diagnose and manage ocular conditions such as refractive errors, binocular vision issues, and anterior segment disorders
Perform specialized tests including refraction, contact lens assessment, dry eye evaluation, and pre/post-operative workup
Assist ophthalmologists in specialty clinics (glaucoma, cornea, retina, pediatric)
Prescribe spectacles, contact lenses, and therapeutic eye care solutions as permitted
Monitor and document patient progress using hospital software/systems
Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and treatment compliance
Support clinical training for junior optometrists, interns, and technicians
Participate in quality improvement activities, audits, and clinical protocols
Maintain professional standards, patient safety, and ethical practices
A Consultant Optometrist in an eye care hospital is responsible for delivering advanced clinical eye care services, performing comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosing ocular conditions, prescribing appropriate treatments, and guiding patients on vision care
