Operations Specialist, Export

Key Accountabilities:

• Register and maintain regular status of Export Shipments in the Company’s system
• Coordinate Export Shipment Operations and Documentations with overseas agents and local Canadian 3rd parties on daily basis and meet the deadlines where applicable
• Cooperate closely with global offices, overseas agents and service providers to Identify optimal solutions for the clients’ requirements and deliver the best possible service to the customers while protecting the integrity of the business
• Review, Analyze and post Accounts Payable per Shipment on a timely manner.
• Also find opportunities to minimize the cost and find opportunities to maximize revenue while ensuring clients’ requirements are met
• Review, Analyze and post Accounts Receivable per shipment on a timely manner.
• Address and communicate to customers and agents any shipping issues and/or delays proactively
• Responsible for the month end closing of assigned shipments
• Responsible for all root cause analysis to achieve required KPI’s and create ideas to improve the existing process
• Provide excellent and timely customer service, under the direct supervision and advice of the department supervisor / Manager
• Costing and quoting agents and clients if additional services are requested
• Work closely with other departments in the company to make the customer’s experience seamless
• Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by management

Minimum Requirements

• Min 5 years freight forwarding experience,
• Min 3yrs experience in operations department
• Min 3 years experience in Ocean or Air EXPORT Operations
• CW1 knowledge is a PLUS
• Knowledge of freight documents like BL, CI, COO, HBL/MBL, AWB, PL is a MUST
• Knowledge of INCOTERMS is a MUST
• Experience working remotely for a US, Canada or foreign based companies is a PLUS

Experience:

• hands-on Export Operations handling and coordinating: 3 years (Required)
• hands-on Airfreight Operations handling and coordinating: 3 years (Required)
• hands-on Ocean Freight Operations handling and coordinating: 3 years (Required)
