1. Document Verification:
- Check the completeness and latest revision of technical and quality documents, including specifications, procedures, drawings, data sheets, etc. - Ensure that all necessary documentation is in place before proceeding with inspections. 2. Calibration Check: - Verify the proper calibration of all apparatus and instrumentation used ( by vendor) in testing materials. This ensures the accuracy and reliability of measurement and testing equipment. 3. Inspection Execution: - Ensure to be qualified to perform the test notified - Perform inspections based on notifications , approved Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and documents approved by customer . - Follow established procedures and guidelines for conducting inspections to ensure consistency and adherence to standards. 4. Test Witnessing: - Witness various tests, including visual and dimensional inspections, pressure tests, Positive Material Identification (PMI), Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), etc. - Ensure that tests are conducted in compliance with the latest approved technical data sheets, test procedures, supplier internal standard operating procedures, and relevant quality standards. 5. Quality Compliance: - Verify that all tests are performed in accordance with approved standards and procedures. - Ensure that supplier internal standard operating procedures are followed and that quality standards are met during the testing processes. 6. Material Certification Review: - Review material certificates and test reports provided by suppliers. - Confirm that the materials meet the specified requirements and standards as per the documentation and inspection criteria.
Qualifications
- Industry Experience: Practical experience in the specific industry in which inspections will be conducted is often a requirement. The number of years of experience can vary based on the complexity of the inspections.
- Inspection Experience: Previous experience in a similar inspection role is highly beneficial. - Understanding of Specifications: Familiarity with technical specifications, engineering drawings, and industry standards relevant to the products or materials being inspected. - Quality Control Knowledge: Knowledge of quality control processes and procedures. - Certifications in Inspection Techniques: Possession of relevant certifications, such as Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), or industry-specific certifications related to inspection processes. - Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Certifications: Depending on the industry, certifications in NDT methods may be required.
