We are currently looking for Officer / Sr. Officer / Asst. Manager BESS Design Engineer with US based Solar company.

Our client accelerates United States solar, battery storage and EV projects by providing turnkey development as a service including 100% internal systems engineering. The company deploys a leading team that spun out of the largest solar power producer in the world.

Our client has fully commoditized renewable energy project development-as-a-service (DaaS), including 100% internal systems engineering and Construction-as-a-Service (CaaS). Our client support developers, builders, land-owners and financers through any portion of project execution, including turnkey delivery of built assets.

Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced BESS Design Engineer with a background in electrical engineering to support the design and engineering of battery energy storage systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and sizing BESS systems, creating Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and working with battery and inverter technologies for residential, commercial & industrial (C&I) and utility-scale applications.

Core Responsibilities:

• Perform battery sizing and capacity estimation based on project requirements (residential, C&I, utility).
• Develop Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), load flow studies and power system schematics.
• Select appropriate batteries, inverters, and system components (battery modules, racks, PCS, transformers).
• Understand technical specifications for lithium-ion batteries, energy density, DOD, SOC, IR and other performance parameters.
• Prepare technical documentation for BESS systems, including design reports, layouts, SOPs, RFP, BOMs (Bill of Materials) and Specification.
• Analyse battery degradation and lifecycle to assist in project lifecycle planning.
• Engage with vendors for component sourcing, pricing and ensuring compliance with design standards.
• Review vendor documentation to match project requirements and integration needs.
• Ensure that all designs comply with international standards and local regulations (e.g., IEEE, IEC, UL).
• Stay updated on industry standards related to energy storage, grid integration and electrical safety.
• Collaborate with project teams for the implementation of BESS solutions, providing engineering support throughout the project lifecycle.

Educational and Technical Skills:

• Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 3 to 8 years of experience in designing BESS systems.
• Strong knowledge of lithium-ion battery technologies and power conversion systems (PCS). Experience in creating Single Line Diagrams (SLD), electrical layouts, and system schematics.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, UL).
• Familiarity with industry-standard software for electrical design (e.g., ETAP, AutoCAD, Homer or similar).
