Job Description

Responsible for the efficient receipt including unloading, un-packing and handling of all

incoming materials, both stock and non-stock.

Verifying the delivery note/packing list, airway bill, bill of lading etc. and tallying with the PO

before downloading the materials received from the local and overseas suppliers.

Counting the stock received against the delivery note and PO, checking for the shelf life,

batch numbers etc. and updating the documents with relevant data before submitting for
inspection and GRN process.

Ensure stocks are adequately identified and stored properly to prevent deterioration or

damages.

Ensure all materials are correctly located.
Reports all discrepancies concerning received materials to the Section in charge/ seniors.
To maintain the storage areas in a clean and tidy condition and report all instances of

damage or deterioration to materials in storage.

Responsible for the efficient receipt and handling of all materials returned to the store from

User Departments, including the correct processing of associated documentation.

Arrange packaging and marking of all materials to be returned to Suppliers.
Carry out physical stock-checks of store stocks as required by Section in charge/ seniors.
Maintain a high standard of working relationship with all User Departments and Suppliers.
Ensure good housekeeping of working area.
May be called upon to work shift duties or call-outs outside normal working hours.
Performs various associated stores duties as directed by the Section in charge/ seniors.
Handle all issues promptly and ensures that associated documentation is correct and legible.
Wear required PPE and follow safe work practices at all times.
Report, Investigate and monitor near misses / incidents in area of control, conducts and

participate in all activities relating removal of hazards in your work area.

Assist with identification of hazards arising from activities in work area, ensuring that all are

communicated to relevant personnel in order to maintain a hazard free work area.

Actively participate in implementation of Safety Policy by example and communication to

subordinates.

Provide an open means by which subordinates / subcontractors can communicate safety

concerns, when possible action the items and when not ensure these are passed to
personnel /sections for further actions.
