Monitor and assess patients: Regularly check vital signs, observe symptoms, and assess a patient's overall health status.  Administer medications and treatments: Dispense and monitor the effects of various medications and treatments prescribed by doctors.  Perform procedures: Conduct diagnostic tests, draw blood, perform wound care, and assist in medical procedures.  Ensure patient comfort: Provide for the patient's daily needs, such as helping with bathing, making beds, and distributing meals.  Communication and collaboration Communicate with the healthcare team: Work with doctors and other professionals to develop and coordinate patient care plans.  Report changes: Inform other nurses and doctors about any changes in a patient's condition, especially in an emergency.  Educate patients and families: Explain medical conditions, treatment plans, and how to manage illnesses at home.  Documentation and record-keeping Record medical history: Document patient symptoms, medical histories, and all observations.  Track patient progress: Monitor and document a patient's progress and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans.  Advocacy and support Advocate for patients: Protect patients' rights and ensure their needs are met.  Provide emotional support: Offer psychological and emotional support to patients and their families
