Position Overview

News Anchor

Key Responsibilities

• Present daily and weekly news bulletins, interviews, and special reports on the Odisha.News YouTube channel.
• Write, edit, and proofread scripts with accuracy, clarity, and journalistic integrity.
• Conduct live and recorded interviews with newsmakers, experts, and citizens.
• Collaborate with the editorial, video, and social media teams to create visually compelling and fact-based stories.
• Research and verify facts to ensure credible and balanced news presentation.
• Engage with the online audience through YouTube comments, community posts, and social media updates.
• Maintain a professional on-screen presence and uphold the editorial values of Odisha.News.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in news anchoring, digital journalism, or video presenting (freshers with strong on-screen presence may apply).
• Excellent spoken and written communication in

  Odia and English

  (Hindi proficiency is a plus).
• Confident and natural camera presence with strong storytelling ability.
• Awareness of current events, especially related to Odisha, India, and global affairs.
• Familiarity with YouTube content trends, live streaming, and audience engagement strategies.

Preferred Skills

• Strong scriptwriting and voice modulation skills.
• Ability to handle breaking news and live situations calmly.
• Basic understanding of video editing and production workflow.
• Interest in social, cultural, and political issues of Odisha.
• Knowledge of social media optimization (YouTube, Instagram, X, Facebook).
