Role: Networking QA Engineer (SONiC) YOE : 7+ yrs Location: Bangalore( Hybrid Mode) , Only for Bangalore location candidates are preferred 1 Technical round, 1 Client round F2F from client location - Marathalli Notice Period - Immediate to 30 Days Only We are seeking a skilled Networking QA Engineer with extensive experience in Networking, L2/L3 testing having knowledge about SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud). The ideal candidate will possess expertise in evaluating SONiC’s compatibility with vendor switches. You will be involved in creating network topologies, performance benchmarking, ensuring compatibility and evaluating networking features/functionalities of SONiC as NOS. Responsibilities Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Layer 2/Layer 3 networking protocols and SONiC-based network operating systems. Build and maintain complex network topologies (physical and virtual) for testing environments, including configuration of switches, routers, and test equipment. Test and validate core networking features such as VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, etc.), ACLs, QoS, link aggregation, and failover mechanisms in a SONiC environment. Evaluate and ensure compatibility of Open SONiC with vendor switches through testing, integration, and troubleshooting. Conduct performance and scalability tests, including throughput, latency, and stability benchmarks using tools like pktgen, or similar. Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts to improve test efficiency and coverage. Documentation of product architecture, requirements, and concepts in clear, concise and consistent specifications. Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with others to provide the best solutions. Adapt to new technologies in dynamic environment. Mandatory Skills Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience working in the IT infrastructure industry. In-depth knowledge of L2/L3 networking protocols(e.g., VLAN, STP, OSPF, BGP, VRRP, ECMP, QoS, ACLs, etc.). Familiarity with standard networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.). Strong experience in functional, performance, regression, and compatibility testing for networking devices. Familiarity with test tools such as IXIA, Spirent, pktgen, or similar. Hands-on experience with network troubleshooting and packet analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump) Strong command-line skills and experience in Linux-based environments, especially for network configuration and troubleshooting. Solid experience in evaluating and replicating performance benchmarks across different network hardware. Hands on programming experience using Python. Strong communication and presentation skills. Good to have Skills - Practical experience in testing, configuring, and validating SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud) as a network operating system. Understanding of SONiC architecture, SAI (Switch Abstraction Interface), and associated CLI tools. Hands-on experience with configuring and testing vendor switches (Broadcom/Marvell-based, etc.). Using SONiC PTF (Packet Test Framework) for packet-level tests Experience contributing to or working with open-source networking projects, especially in large- scale networking environments. Knowledge about container technologies, Docker & Kubernetes. Experience in AI/ML. Knowledge about OVS. Knowledge about DPDK. Knowledge about SmartNIC.
