What You'll Do?

Cisco InfoSec seeks an Information Security Engineer to join some of the industry's brightest minds in Network Security, managing access decisions based on Cisco's security policies, assessment of security risks at various PINs in one of the world's largest network. In this role, you will gain insight on the detailed functionality of how security is handled at various network layers, through administrative, technical and Physical.

The ideal candidate will have expert level knowledge on Network Security - routing protocols, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, ACL management etc., The candidate should have the ability to understand business requirements, assess and communicating associated risks and applying appropriate controls as per policies and standards.

Who You'll Work With?

The functions performed by this role being for the global enterprise, the role involves building and maintaining relationship with internal business clients, IT, Engineering management across the globe. Besides that, the candidate may require to work with various functional groups within the Security organization and report to an InfoSec manager and drive efficiencies in day-to-day operations and driving projects. The Candidate may be expected to work in different time zone requirement on need basis.

Roles/ Responsibilities:

1. Evaluate security risks for various change requests coming out of ever-changing business needs; considering the risks which could be introduced, the existing network security controls (Firewall /Extranet/Lab.) while adhering to Cisco's security policies & standards.

2. Evaluate, assess, and verify the compliance of ports and protocols utilized by IT infrastructures, systems, platforms, applications, and network security devices (e.g. router Access Control Lists, Firewall configuration, ports /protocol etc.).

3. Demonstrate architectural understanding, but evaluating risks imposed on a secured environment by granting access permission in different security zones of architecture.

4. Evaluate risks in access permission involved in mergers and acquisitions, cloud connect and different cloud solution.

5. Automate tasks including ACL checks, network policy adherence, Analyzing Firewall rules etc.

6. Develop knowledgebase, refine processes for case handling, auditing based on best practices.

7. YOU WILL NOT BE DOING ANY HANDS-ON CONFIGURATION. This is purely a consulting role

Who You Are"

Skill Requirements:

1. Typically requires an Engineering Degree in Computer Science or equivalent plus 6 - 8 years of experience in areas similar to that laid out under roles/responsibilities.

2. Good conceptual knowledge in Networking & Security preferably evidenced through certifications and hands on experience in assessing security risks for large enterprise networks

3. Prior experience in information security consulting with the understanding of how to analyze InfoSec policies

Desirable Skills:

2. Systems administration skills (Good understanding of Unix and windows environment) / Information Security practitioner with CISSP knowledge.

3. Preferred certification CCNA/CCNA Security/CCNP

Soft skills

1) Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on routine work and general instructions on new assignments aligning with the larger goals of the team.

2) Influencing and communication skills (verbal & written)

3) Ability to develop and nurture relationships with stakeholders, peers and customers

4) A person with good grasping power to understand complex architectures, make security decisions to enable business and make business understand about the risks involved if any.
