Network Lead

Highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer to lead and participate in a Proof of Concept (PoC) for SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud) as part of our network transformation initiative. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience with SONiC or disaggregated network operating systems (DNOS), a deep understanding of networking protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams to evaluate, test, and deploy SONiC based solutions. Network Engineer Must have:1. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience considered. Key Responsibilities:2. 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with at least 2 years focused on disaggregated networks or DNOS. PoC Implementation:3. Strong understanding of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, EVPN, VXLAN, QoS, etc.). Design, configure, and deploy a PoC environment to evaluate SONiC DNOS capabilities. 4. Hands on experience with SONiC or similar DNOS solutions. Test and validate hardware and software interoperability in multi vendor environments. 5. Proficiency in network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python, REST APIs). Identify and document performance metrics, scalability, and operational capabilities. 6. Familiarity with white box switches and ASICs (Broadcom, Mellanox, etc.). Technical Evaluation:7. Experience with containerized environments and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. Assess SONiC features such as BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, QoS, and network telemetry. Compare SONiCs functionality and performance against existing network operating systems (Cisco Nexus OS / ACI, Arista EoS, Juniper Junos) Nice to have: Collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve hardware or software issues. 1. Contribution or active participation in the SONiC open source community. Documentation & Reporting:2. Experience with telemetry solutions such as gNMI or streaming telemetry. Create detailed test plans, results, and technical documentation for PoC activities. 3. Knowledge of network performance testing tools like iPerf, IXIA, or Spirent. Provide recommendations for SONiC adoption based on findings. 4. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure. Present PoC outcomes to technical leadership and stakeholders. 5. Excellent communication and technical documentation skills. Collaboration: Work closely with network architects, software developers, and operations teams to align PoC objectives with business goals. Participate in discussions with hardware vendors and SONiC community contributors. Automation & Integration: Develop and test network automation scripts using Ansible, Python, and REST APIs. Integrate SONiC into existing network management and monitoring systems.
