Job Description

Reports To: Network Manager / IT Infrastructure Lead

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer L3 who will serve as the final escalation point for critical and complex network issues. The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and securing enterprise-level network infrastructure, while guiding L1/L2 engineers and ensuring high availability and performance of the network environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Troubleshooting & Escalation
    • Act as Level 3 support for escalated incidents from L1/L2 teams.
    • Perform root cause analysis and provide permanent resolutions.
    • Handle complex issues related to LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, Data Center, and Security.
  • Implementation & Configuration
    • Plan, design, and implement new network solutions and improvements.
    • Configure and manage advanced routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS) and switching technologies.
    • Deploy and manage VPNs, VLANs, ACLs, NAT, QoS, and firewall rules.
  • Operations & Maintenance
    • Monitor and maintain enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
    • Perform firmware upgrades, patches, configuration backups, and capacity planning.
    • Ensure maximum uptime and optimize network performance.
  • Security & Compliance
    • Manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC, and security policies.
    • Ensure compliance with security standards (ISO, NIST, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, etc. as applicable).
    • Respond to and remediate security incidents and vulnerabilities.

  • Monitoring & Reporting
    • Use monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, Cisco Prime, etc.) to track network performance.
    • Generate periodic reports and share proactive insights for improvement.
  • Collaboration & Leadership
    • Mentor and provide technical guidance to L1/L2 engineers.
    • Work closely with Server, Cloud, Application, and Security teams for integrated IT operations.
    • Manage vendor escalations (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.).
  • Disaster Recovery & Projects
    • Participate in disaster recovery (DR) planning and implementation.
    • Lead or support network-related projects including SD-WAN, cloud connectivity, and automation initiatives.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, VPNs, Firewalls, Routing & Switching.
    • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Checkpoint devices.
    • Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS/Azure/GCP).
    • Knowledge of network automation (Python, Ansible, scripting) is an advantage.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    • Cisco CCNP/CCIE, Juniper JNCIP/JNCIE, Palo Alto PCNSE, Fortinet NSE, AWS/Azure Networking Specialty.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Ability to mentor junior engineers and work in a fast-paced, 24x7 environment.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 712 years of relevant experience in enterprise network engineering.
