Network Engineer L1

Maintain the computing environment by identifying network requirements, installing upgrades, and monitoring network performance. Establish network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols. Evaluate network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; plan and execute the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; define network policies and procedures; establish connections and firewalls. Perform network monitoring and analysis, network performance tuning, troubleshooting network problems, and escalate issues to the vendor. Develop network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation to secure the network; maintain documentation. Design and conduct training programs for users; provide references and support. Collaborate with vendors to develop, test, evaluate, and install network upgrades. Submit budget information and monitor expenses to meet financial requirements. Stay updated by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and engaging in professional organizations. Keep information confidential to protect the organization's value. Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership of new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Requirements: - Proven experience in a network administrator role - Hands-on experience in networking, routing, and switching - Excellent knowledge of best practices in managing, controlling, and monitoring server infrastructure - Experience with firewalls, Internet VPNs remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution desired - Ability to set up and configure server hardware - Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies - Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills - Certification such as CCNA, Network+, CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, or equivalent - BSc degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent - Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a three-year College or technical school with an emphasis in electronics required; Bachelor's Degree preferred,
