Job Description

The Music Teacher is responsible for providing structured music education in alignment with CBSE co-scholastic and Art Education guidelines, nurturing students’ musical skills, creativity, discipline, and appreciation of Indian and global music traditions.

Key Responsibilities

Academic & Instructional

  • Plan and deliver music lessons for Primary, Middle, and Secondary classes as per CBSE guidelines.
  • Teach Vocal Music (Indian/Western) and Instrumental Music (Harmonium, Keyboard, Tabla, Guitar, etc.) as per school curriculum.
  • Introduce students to notation, rhythm (taal), melody, pitch, and basic music theory.
  • Prepare lesson plans, practice schedules, and performance modules aligned with CBSE Art Education.

Assessment & Student Development

  • Assess students based on participation, practice, skill development, and performance, in line with CBSE co-scholastic evaluation.
  • Maintain student records, portfolios, and progress reports.
  • Identify and mentor musically talented students for competitions and advanced training.

Co-Curricular & Event Support

  • Train and prepare students for morning assemblies, school choir, annual day, cultural programs, and national celebrations.
  • Coordinate with Dance Teachers and Event Committees for performances.
  • Support inter-school competitions, CBSE cultural events, and music examinations (if applicable).

Classroom & Resource Management

  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and maintenance of musical instruments and audio equipment.
  • Maintain discipline and ensure student safety during practice sessions.
  • Create an inclusive and encouraging learning environment.

Professional & Administrative

  • Attend staff meetings, CBSE trainings, workshops, and school events.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school leadership for holistic student development.
  • Adhere to school policies, CBSE norms, and professional ethics.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Music / Performing Arts / Fine Arts or
  • Diploma / Certification in Vocal or Instrumental Music from a recognized institution
  • B.Ed. (Preferred, as per CBSE norms)

Experience

  • Minimum 1–3 years of teaching experience in a school (CBSE experience preferred)
  • Experience in choir training and stage performances is an advantage

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong vocal or instrumental proficiency
  • Knowledge of Indian classical / light music and/or Western music
  • Good communication and classroom management skills
  • Ability to train students of varying age groups and abilities

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to ₹30,000.00 per month
