Description
As a Process Engineer at Innovation Labs within the Process Automation LoB, you will play a crucial role in enabling digital transformation within the process industry. Your main responsibilities will include: - Demonstrating a solid understanding of unit operations and chemical reactions relevant to process optimization, such as Distillation, Solvent Extraction, Reaction Engineering, and Mixing. - Identifying and analyzing complex industrial challenges to create relevant use cases for process improvement. - Collaborating with various stakeholders including customers, partners, suppliers, startups, and academic institutions to address industry-specific challenges in segments like Paints & Coatings, Chemicals, Green Hydrogen, Metals, Desalination, etc. - Analyzing process data, including Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), control strategies, and operational tag data to assess benefits and make informed decisions. - Developing clear and actionable requirements based on identified industrial challenges to guide product development. - Assessing the feasibility of proposed solutions through Proof of Concept (POC) testing. - Identifying opportunities for process efficiency improvements, cost optimization, quality enhancement, and sustainability initiatives within existing operations. To be successful in this role, the following skills and capabilities are required: - Strong understanding of the industrial automation industry, especially in process domain industries like Chemicals, Oil & Gas, Plastics, Metals & Mining. - Proficiency in process control and strategies. - Field experience with industrial field devices, instrumentation, and actuators. - Knowledge of safety, compliance, industry regulations, and environmental standards. - Experience in Dynamic Simulation, particularly in Chemical processes. - Hands-on experience with industry-standard software tools for simulation, modeling, and data analysis. - Working knowledge of Process Optimization methodologies. - Ability to solve complex Chemical and Controls Engineering problems. - Proficiency in designing and developing control logic for process automation and optimization. - Familiarity with industry communication protocols and control layers. - Ownership of Proof of Concepts, Pilot or Solution development, deployment, and post-deployment support. - Result-oriented approach with a focus on business needs. - Ability to handle multiple priorities, tasks, and deadlines. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment. - Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills. - Experience in working with international customers and understanding technical and business requirements. Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemical engineering or equivalent. Note: The primary location for this position is in IN-Telangana-Hyderabad.
