Cosmicport, a space technology startup, is building a launch vehicle tailored for small and medium-range satellites, in addition to advancing Earth Observation Satellites (EOS) designed for Sun-Synchronous Orbits (SSO) to serve commercial entities. Our cost-effective reusable launch vehicle provides precise and dependable launch solutions, facilitating the establishment of constellation platforms. As a mission design engineer, you will design launch trajectories, define mission requirements, and perform performance assessments across all flight phases. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including propulsion, guidance and control, avionics, and payload integration to align technical objectives with mission goals. 

Responsibilities:

• Work on trajectory optimization and analysis for Launch Vehicles 
• Simulate and analyze 3DoF and 6DoF models 
• Work alongside other engineers (Aero, Structures, GNC, etc.) to carry out simulations and development of models 
• To be involved in the configuration of the vehicle and perform Multi-Disciplinary Optimization, arriving at the optimal configuration 
• Conduct various simulations to study vehicle trajectory dispersions 

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor's/Master's in Aerospace Engineering, Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics engineering, GNC engineering, or any other relevant discipline. 

Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency in engineering simulation software such as MATLAB/ Simulink 
• Proficiency in general programming languages like C/C++/Python, with good knowledge of OOP concepts 
• Experience modelling physical systems and processes 
• Experience with optimization techniques and numerical solvers 
• Experience with Linux and git or other version control tools 
• High degree of attention to detail 
• Ability to work with little to no supervision efficiently 

Compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis with consideration of knowledge, skills, education, and experience. You may be eligible for annual bonuses. Insurance coverages and retirement plans are being worked upon and will be disclosed after hire.
