Job Title: Miller (Conventional Milling Machine Operator)

Role Summary
The Miller is responsible for operating conventional milling machines to manufacture precision components as per engineering drawings, tolerances, and quality requirements. The role involves machine setting, tool handling, dimensional accuracy, and adherence to safety and productivity standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and set conventional milling machines (horizontal/vertical).
Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
Select tools, cutters, jigs, and fixtures as per job requirements.
Perform workpiece alignment, zero setting, and clamping.
Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
Perform first piece and in-process inspection using measuring instruments.
Monitor tool wear, feeds, speeds, coolant usage.
Maintain cycle time and reduce rework/rejections.
Follow safety standards and maintain 5S on shop floor.
Maintain production records, job cards, and basic documentation.
Coordinate with production and quality teams for corrections or improvements.
Perform minor preventive maintenance of machine.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of milling operations and machining practices.
Ability to read engineering drawings accurately.
Handling of measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Dial Gauge, Height Gauge).
Knowledge of cutting tools and materials.
Good precision focus and hand–eye coordination.
Basic shop floor safety awareness.
Qualification
ITI / Diploma – Machinist / Turner / Mechanical Trade.
Additional certification in machining preferred.
Experience
1–2 years (Junior Miller)
2–5 years (Experienced Miller)
5+ years (Senior Miller / Lead Operator)

Job Title: Fitter (Mechanical Fitter)

Role Summary
The Fitter is responsible for fitting, assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical components, machinery, and equipment in accordance with technical drawings, maintenance schedules, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform mechanical fitting, assembly, alignment, and installation work.
Read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
Conduct routine preventive and breakdown maintenance of machines/equipment.
Perform drilling, tapping, filing, bench work, and manual fitting operations.
Install bearings, shafts, couplings, gears, and mechanical assemblies.
Conduct alignment checks and precision fitting.
Inspect parts and verify tolerances using measuring instruments.
Troubleshoot mechanical faults and rectify issues.
Follow workplace safety protocols and PPE compliance.
Maintain maintenance records and service logs.
Work with maintenance, production, and quality teams to resolve issues.
