Microsoft Defender For Cloud Apps (MDCA) Security Engineer

• Location: Bangalore / (Hybrid/Remote)


• Duration: 3-6 months (No extension)

• Job Overview: The MDCA Security Engineer will be responsible for implementing and managing Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps (MDCA) to secure cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in configuring, fine-tuning, and integrating MDCA policies to ensure cloud security compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy and configure Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps (MDCA) to monitor and control access to sanctioned and unsanctioned cloud applications.


• Define and implement Cloud Discovery policies to track shadow IT activities.


• Configure Conditional Access App Control policies to enforce real-time session controls.


• Integrate SaaS applications through app connectors for SaaS Security Posture Management (SSPM).


• Implement OAuth app governance policies to manage third-party integrations.


• Collaborate with security stakeholders to ensure seamless integration with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE), Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender XDR, and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps (MDCA) and other Microsoft security solutions.


• Expertise in Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance, including Microsoft Entra ID, Azure AD Conditional Access Policies, Defender XDR, Sentinel, and Purview.


• Strong understanding of Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and CASB solutions.


• Experience with OAuth app governance, API security, and SaaS security controls.


• Solid understanding of Zero Trust security frameworks.


• Experience with security incident response, log analysis, and SIEM/SOAR integrations.


• Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft Security Certifications (e.g., SC-200, SC-300, SC-400, AZ-500, MS-500).
