Microbiologist

• Literature studies on new cultures in probiotics & antimicrobial compounds.
• Performing microbial enzyme assay methods & probiotic consortia related product handling.
• Developing new microbial consortia with probiotic features.
• Developing new microbial techniques for characterization of microbes from various samples.
• Handling of laminar air flow, different types of microscopes, analytical instruments including HPLC, spectrophotometer, fermenter, pH, etc.
• Aware with microbiology skills including media preparation, plating techniques, sterilization techniques, and with analytical skills including preparation of standard solutions, standard calibration methods, etc.
• Basics of Isolation, identification, Enumeration & characterization of microbes.
• Implementing and applying new technologies to investigate microbial interactions.
• Understanding the mechanisms behind microbial interactions with biocides.
• The work involves the ideation, design, and planning of laboratory experiments as well as their execution.
• Prior experience in culturing or handling microalgae/algal cultures will be considered a plus.
• Results & data writing, Preparing reports & result summary.

Job requirements:

A successful candidate will have:

• A profound knowledge of microbiology techniques including plating methods, sterilization procedures, sterile sampling, microbial culture handling, etc.
• Masters degree in microbiology from an accredited college/university with 3 – 5 years of experience in microbial research & development
• Expert in handling various microbial cultures.
• An inquiring mind, intense curiosity, and strong desire to work in quality method development.
• Good teamwork skills in fast faced & challenging environment. A sincere attitude & commitment towards job responsibilities.
