Microbiologist

As a Microbiologist at Vitaliz, your role will involve various responsibilities related to culturing methods, culture maintenance, microbiology works, and laboratory equipment quality assurance. Your main duties and responsibilities will include: - Prepare mother spawn for the production of commercial spawn for mushrooms and fungal cultivation. - Perform media preparation for different strains such as Agaricus bisporus and conduct sterilization procedures for culture growth and quality control. - Create various types of mushroom spawn using different strains like paddy straw, milky, oyster, cordyceps, etc. - Conduct routine microbiological analysis of raw materials, mycelium cultures, and ensure contamination-free production. - Perform culturing using basic methods and aseptic handling. - Review each sample received in the laboratory for analysis within stipulated timeframes. - Independently perform and report microbiological analyses of various samples. - Maintain laboratory equipment quality assurance and prepare volumetric solutions/media/buffers. - Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping. - Collaborate with other departments to provide technical support. - Responsible for the success of the batches and data compilation/report preparation. Qualifications/Competencies/Position Requirements: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Microbiology laboratory within the Functional Foods/Nutraceutical industry. - Strong technical knowledge of microbial culture collection, taxonomy, and maintenance. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams. - Detail-oriented with good organizational and time management skills. - Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Education and Experience: - Msc Microbiology with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Microbiology laboratory.
