Mep Manager

MAIN PURPOSE

To provide a communication link and technical supporting role through all the stages of mechanical and electrical services, design, installation, commissioning and handover.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• Worked with established project / construction management companies
• 8 to 15 years experience

QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma / BE Mechanical / Electrical

RESPONSIBILITIES

• To assess if a site is suitable for construction
• Familiar with design of power distribution, plumbing and ventilation systems.
• To negotiate contracts with clients, vendors on change orders to promote energy efficiency and other sustainability issues
• Awareness about LEED & Green building requirements.
• To ensure that that all building services meet HSE requirements & local authority regulations.
• To liaise with service engineers & technicians, surveyors, architectural technologists and other construction professionals
• To have full knowledge of product/ materials and equipment to be used in various systems.
• To be aware of installation methods & correct sequence of work.
• To draw up plans, write briefs and report on progress in a timely manner.
• To carry out tests on systems and make changes to plans where necessary
• To monitor the installation of services and manage their maintenance till handover

Technical

General

• Has adequate technical knowledge of the construction process & sequence of work Health and Safety
• Implements HSE practices as international standards & project specific safety plan on site

Communication

• Ability to present complex issues clearly, credibly and effectively by using a communication style appropriate to the situation
• Excellent writing skills, from emails to reports
• Ability to brief listeners well by collecting appropriate information, organizing it and presenting the level of detail needed to convince the receiver
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients
