Job Description

Role Overview

highly skilled Mechanical Engineer

reviewing, correcting, and coordinating mechanical drawings

hands-on mechanical understanding

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Mechanical

  • Study and verify elevator 

    GADs and mechanical layouts

     before execution.
  • Identify and correct 

    errors, mismatches, or feasibility issues

     in drawings.
  • Evaluate site clearances (shaft, pit, overhead, machine room, door openings).
  • Propose 

    practical alternate mechanical solutions

     for site deviations.
  • Coordinate with the design team for 

    GAD revisions

     and corrections.
  • Ensure correct 

    fitment and alignment

     of car frames, guide rails, machine beams, buffers, and brackets.
  • Work with the factory and site teams to ensure 

    fabrication and materials

     match corrected site conditions.

Site Coordination & Measurement

  • Take accurate 

    site measurements

     and verify them against approved drawings.
  • Prepare and submit 

    site measurement reports

     with clear documentation.
  • Identify potential issues before installation and provide corrective guidance.
  • Liaise with 

    builders, architects, and contractors

     for technical clarifications.
  • Support installation teams to ensure mechanical work is executed as per revised GADs.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure installation meets 

    Elevators’ quality standards

     and relevant safety norms (IS/BIS).
  • Supervise mechanical assemblies for 

    accuracy, alignment, and workmanship

    .
  • Inspect and verify materials and mechanical installations before commissioning.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Communicate mechanical deviations and alternates effectively to office and site teams.
  • Maintain documentation of all site-based mechanical corrections and implemented solutions.
  • Train and guide junior technicians on reading GADs and accurate measurement practices.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of 

    mechanical systems in elevators

    .
  • Expert in 

    reading and correcting GAD drawings

    .
  • AutoCAD proficiency

     (mandatory).
  • Good knowledge of 

    shaft geometry, load points, and structural interfaces

    .
  • Excellent 

    problem-solving

     and 

    decision-making

     ability.
  • Capable of taking 

    precise measurements

     and ensuring mechanical fitment accuracy.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.

Qualification & Experience

  • Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

  • 5 to 10 years

     of experience in elevator installation, site supervision, or mechanical design.
  • Prior experience with 

    modern controller-based elevator systems

     preferred.
  • Willingness to travel for site coordination when required.
