Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Required Key Skills:

Open die forging press,/Hammer maintenance, Hydraulics, Manipulator, Hydraulic Pumps, Hydro motors, Hydraulic power pack, servo valves, proportional valves, Hydraulic piping, TIG Welding, troubleshooting in hydraulic systems, Prefill valves, Heavy cylinders repairing. Heavy machinery maintenance, PM, Condition monitoring

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in open die press and Close Die Press/Hammer and maintenance.
• Mechanical Engineering (Degree or Diploma).
• Strong understanding of press/ Hammer and processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preventive & Predictive Maintenance:

• Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules for closed die hammers, power presses, furnaces, cooling systems, and hydraulic systems.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment history.

• Breakdown Maintenance:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in hammer machines, bolster beds, dies, and associated equipment.
• Coordinate quick and efficient repairs to reduce downtime.

• Equipment Handling:

• Manage the upkeep of forging hammers (Bell drop hammers, pneumatic hammers, Press),
• Ensure optimal functioning of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

• Spare Parts Management:

• Identify critical spare parts and maintain inventory.
• Raise purchase requisitions and ensure timely availability of spares.

• Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure all maintenance activities follow safety protocols and statutory regulations.
• Participate in safety audits, 5S, and root cause analysis for incidents or near misses.

• Team Coordination:

• Lead and guide maintenance technicians during shift operations.
• Coordinate with the production team for planning shutdowns and repairs.

• Continuous Improvement:

• Contribute to process improvements to reduce machine downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Participate in Kaizen, TPM, or other plant improvement initiatives.

Preferred candidate profile

A candidate with experience in mechanical maintenance from Forging (Hammer Shop) Industry
