Mechanical Draughtman

Role Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Drafter who can transform specifications, sketches, or images of machined/welded assemblies into precise engineering and fabrication drawings. This role is crucial to enabling accurate manufacturing and seamless collaboration between design, engineering, and production.

Key Responsibilities

Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for machined and welded assemblies based on specifications, images, or rough sketches.

Prepare fabrication and shop drawings including weld details, machining tolerances, and assembly views.

Apply GD&T, welding symbols, and drafting standards (ASME/ISO).

Collaborate with engineers to clarify requirements and ensure manufacturability.

Revise and maintain documentation, ensuring accuracy and traceability in line with Jeevy Fabrication’s AI-enabled QA processes.

Support digital workflows for drawing review, approval, and version control.

Qualifications

Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.

Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent).

Strong understanding of welded structures, machining practices, and fabrication drawings.

Knowledge of GD&T, tolerancing, and welding standards.

Attention to detail with a focus on quality and efficiency.

Good communication skills for working in a remote, distributed environment.

Preferred Skills

Experience drafting for fabrication shops (structural steel, sheet metal, welded assemblies, or precision machining).

Familiarity with AI-driven or digital QA systems (a plus, but not mandatory).

Prior remote work experience with international clients.
