The Role: Post-Contract Mechanical Design Lead

HVAC, Public Health Engineering (PHE), and Fire Protection Systems (FPS)

Key Responsibilities

PHE (Public Health Engineering / Plumbing)

• Design & Calculations:

  Conduct precise water demand, pump head, and pipe sizing calculations. Design high-efficiency drainage (soil, waste, and vent) and rainwater harvesting systems optimised for modular vertical stacks.

• Shop Drawings:

  Develop "Spool Drawings" for factory pre-fabrication, ensuring every pipe segment and fitting is mapped for "Lego-style" assembly.

• BOM & Procurement:

  Generate detailed BOMs including specific fittings and fixtures. Provide technical sign-off on material purchases to ensure compatibility with modular connection points.

FPS (Fire Protection System)

• Design & Calculations:

  Perform hydraulic calculations using software (e.g., Elite/HASS) to determine pipe diameters, pump capacities, and sprinkler spacing per NFPA/NBC standards.

• Shop Drawings:

  Create coordinated sprinkler layouts and fire standpipe drawings that account for modular "break-away" joints for transport and on-site reconnection.

• BOM & Procurement:

  Execute precise counting of heads, valves, and flow switches. Approve high-spec components that meet both safety codes and the "rapid deployment" mission.

HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning)

• Design & Calculations:

  Execute detailed heat load calculations (using HAP/TRACE) and ESP (External Static Pressure) calculations. Design ductwork and refrigerant piping specifically for volumetric constraints.

• Shop Drawings:

  Produce precision ducting layouts and VRF/VRV piping schematics. Ensure all HVAC penetrations are coordinated with structural PEB frames to avoid site clashes.

• BOM & Procurement:

  Generate comprehensive BOMs for equipment (AHUs, FCUs, IDUs/ODUs) and consumables. Approve purchases based on energy efficiency ratings and "plug-and-play" electrical compatibility.

• Profitability & Value Engineering:

• Generate accurate

  Bills of Materials (BOM)

  and BOQs.
• Identify "Scrappy" yet high-quality ways to optimize duct routing, pipe sizing, and equipment selection to

  increase project profitability

• Procurement & Quality:

  * Provide

  Technical Approval for BOM purchases

  , ensuring all mechanical components meet the "Lego-system" logic of rapid deployment.
• Review vendor submittals for Chillers, AHUs, Pumps, and Fire Fighting equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in HVAC, PHE, and FPS design (experience in Modular/PEB or high-rise commercial is preferred).
• Expert proficiency in

  AutoCAD

  and

  Revit/BIM

  (essential for modular coordination).
• Deep knowledge of plumbing, drainage, and fire suppression standards (e.g., NFPA, local fire authority codes).
• Proven experience in

  Post-Contract

  execution and BOM management.
