Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with 3–5 years of professional experience to take up end-to-end mechanical design for complex products and systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—industrial design, electronics, and fabrication– to translate customer requirements into manufacturable, high-quality solutions.

This is a hands-on role where you will lead the design process from concept to delivery, ensuring seamless integration of mechanical, electronic, and aesthetic elements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end mechanical design for full product systems.
• Translate customer requirements, ID inputs, and technical constraints into well-defined engineering specifications.
• Develop concept-level designs, detailed 3D models, and production-ready drawings.
• Collaborate closely with electronics, firmware, and ID teams to ensure smooth integration of all components.
• Work directly with fabrication vendors to ensure manufacturability and production feasibility.
• Prepare BOMs and engineering documentation as needed.
• Oversee fabrication, testing, and assembly to ensure the final product matches design intent.
• Identify design risks early and propose solutions proactively.
• Maintain high standards of quality, timelines, and version control across all deliverables.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Creo, or similar).
• Expertise in designing for sheet metal, plastics, machined parts, and welded assemblies.
• Understanding of electronics integration (PCBs, wiring, sensors, actuators, etc.).
• Proficiency in engineering calculations, material selection, and tolerance analysis.
• Experience preparing manufacturing drawings and production documentation.
• Knowledge of DFM principles.Experience working with fabrication vendors—CNC, 3D printing, molding, sheet metal, etc.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping.

Soft Skills

Experience Required

• 3–5 years of full-time experience in mechanical product design and development.
• Prior experience working on multidisciplinary products (hardware + ID + electronics) is a preferred.
• Experience managing products from concept to fabrication handover.
