Mechanical Design Engineer

Design & Drafting

• Develop 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for sheet metal components, weldments, and heavy structures.
• Apply GD&T principles to ensure dimensional accuracy, tolerance control, and manufacturability.
• Prepare fabrication drawings, assembly layouts, and detailed part drawings with correct welding symbols.
• Generate flat patterns, bend allowances, and nesting layouts for CNC cutting and bending.
• Structural Design
• Draft heavy structural frameworks, supports, and assemblies for industrial applications.
• Ensure designs meet load-bearing, safety, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with civil/structural engineers for integration of mechanical structures.
• Fabrication & Welding Standards
• Apply international welding standards (AWS, ISO, ASME, EN) in design and documentation.
• Use welding symbols (fillet, groove, plug, spot, surfacing, weld-all-around, field weld) correctly in drawings.
• Prepare WPS (Welding Procedure Specification), PQR (Procedure Qualification Record), and WPQ references for QA teams.
• Ensure weld callouts and GD&T annotations are clear, standardized, and shop-floor ready.
• Machine Knowledge
• Strong understanding of Messer plasma cutting machines: programming, nesting, and process optimization.
• Knowledge of laser cutting machines: material selection, cutting parameters, and precision tolerances.
• Ability to integrate machine capabilities into design for cost-effective and accurate fabrication.
• Collaborate with operators to ensure drawings are compatible with CNC plasma and laser processes.
• Documentation
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs), process sheets, and shop-floor documentation.
• Maintain drawing standards, revision control, and engineering change notices.
• Provide clear references for supplier QA and inspection teams.
• Collaboration
• Work closely with production, QA, and project teams to ensure manufacturability.
• Support welders, fabricators, and shop-floor supervisors with technical guidance.
• Participate in design reviews and suggest improvements for efficiency.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
