Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Mechanical BIM Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and manage mechanical system BIM models using Revit MEP and related BIM tools.
Design and model HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems in accordance with project specifications and codes.
Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural, and other MEP disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
Produce shop drawings, coordinated layouts, schedules, and BOQs directly from BIM models.
Perform clash detection and participate in resolution meetings using Navisworks or similar software.
Support engineers in creating and maintaining BIM execution plans (BEP), LOD requirements, and BIM standards.
Ensure models are up to date and aligned with project design changes and client requirements.
Assist in RFI responses and technical submissions where needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
3+ years of experience in BIM design within the MEP industry.
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP is essential; experience with AutoCAD, Navisworks, and BIM 360 is preferred.
Solid understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems in buildings.
Knowledge of international codes and standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, etc.).
Strong coordination, technical, and documentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
